But this is a kid’s book, so I can let that go. White sometimes gives “reasonable” explanations for Stuart’s little things - such as ice skates made of paper clips and coins made of foil, but sometimes there is no explanation at all for things (a working car with gas engine for a mouse?!?). Most of the adventures would be enjoyable for kids (such as the sailing race on the pond). His book is for the most part a collection of mostly unrelated adventures that generally don’t build on each other. This is certainly a children’s book, and not quite like I remember. I remember enjoying this book tremendously as a child as I loved books about small human-like animals. Okay collection of adventures with abrupt ending
